EXCEL (Experience Community Employability & Leadership) Students from Palatka HS and Crescent City HS Packing Toiletry Bags for Schools

Feed the Need of Putnam County's Partnership with Interlachen High School's Culinary Arts Program

Feed the Need of Putnam County is honored to support the Culinary Arts Program at Interlachen High School by providing fresh fruits, vegetables, and occasionally meat and other food items when available. The Chef uses these ingredients as a teaching tool, guiding students in prepping and cooking a variety of dishes. Once a week, they prepare a large meal, partly made with ingredients from FTN, and serve it to underserved community members at a local church. We’re thrilled to partner with the Interlachen High School Culinary Arts Program!

Feed the Need Team Ambassadors - Teen Hunger Fight 2022

On September 15th, 2022 over 200 teens came together to pack food for local families. This effort was funded by grants from State Farm Corporate and the Kiwanis Children's Fund, with local matching funds provided by the Azalea City Kiwanis Club. Together, they packed an incredible 32,500 meals!

Feed the Need Teen Ambassadors - EXCEL- Experience Community

EXCEL stands for Experience Community Employability Leaders. It’s a comprehensive program for Putnam County students designed to prepare them for the workforce. By partnering with schools and employers, EXCEL aims to raise student aspirations, teach teamwork and leadership, and instill workplace values, helping young people transition successfully through and beyond high school.

Becci Motes' EXCEL program in the Putnam County School District works closely with Feed the Need, advocating for food insecurity awareness while building professional and social skills. Students volunteer by organizing school pantries, attending, and assisting with events and fundraisers, gaining valuable experience in the fundamentals of nonprofit work.

The EXCEL program actively participates in several Feed the Need events, including Giving Tuesday, Hunger Fight packing events, and other fundraisers. These experiences help students develop project management skills and boost morale, showing them that they have the power to make a difference for their peers and younger children in the Putnam County community.

Denise Bramlitt, Executive Director of Feed the Need, frequently emphasizes the importance of education in professionalism and business to students. FTN is deeply committed to helping shape Putnam County’s future leaders to be their very best.
